Sydney outplayed and outscored a Central Coast Mariners side 4-1 at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night to move level on points with Melbourne City in joint third place in the Hyundai A-League.

Here are some of the key moments in the game and the players involved.

Brosque hits first early goal:

“Hoole and Ninko linked up and played a quick one two between about four Mariners players and I was hoping it would pop out somehow but didn’t expect the way it did.  Sometimes you are just in the right place at the right time and it was nice to get an early goal and set the tone for the game.”

Blackwood brought down for a penalty and Izzo sent off:

“I remember being sent through by Branno’s awesome ball and I was trying to stay up and get an open goal but the keeper caught me and it was 100% a penalty.”

Tavares scores penalty:

“It’s always a good feeling to score a goal and I think the most important thing was the victory but for me personally it’s always good to score.

“I decided to take the responsibility and picked my corner.”

Grant cross deflected in:

“Hooley put me in behind the full back and I was looking for Simo and I think if it went through Simo had an easy tap in.  The defender had to stick a foot out and unfortunately for him it took a deflection and went in the back of the net.”
