Sydney FC Head Coach Frank Farina is confident the Sky Blues will win more matches than they lose if they continue to play the way they did in the Sydney Derby.

Playing with a midfield diamond the Sky Blues dominated possession for large parts of the game and Farina said it was only minor errors that cost Sydney FC a deserved point.

“I told the boys in the video session this morning that if we play the way we played against Western Sydney we-ll be ok,” Farina said.

“It-s a bit hard to cop the 87th minute goal but it-s the small details and we-ve got to remain concentrated for the 90 minutes.

“The majority of chances they created came from our mistakes. It wasn-t through great play that they got the chances.

“If we can cut the error rate down then teams won-t get as much chances as they have.”

Although the Sky Blues won both their home fixtures against the reigning Champions last season Farina is under no illusions about the threat that every team poses in the League.

“Every game is tough for every team,” said Farina.

“We-ve got the Mariners but others teams have Brisbane and other teams have Melbourne, so for all of us we could say the same thing.

“For us we just focus on each game as it comes and it-s important that we get 3 points, especially this weekend.”

The Sky Blues will host the Mariners at Allianz Stadium this Saturday (kick off 7:45pm).
