Jurman Relishing Kane Clash

Sydney FC defender Matthew Jurman is relishing the opportunity to face the English Premier League’s man of the moment Harry Kane and says he may even steal his boots!!!

Jurman will come up against Kane when the Sky Blues take on former UEFA Cup, FA Cup and League Cup winners Tottenham Hotspur on May 30 at ANZ Stadium.

The Sky Blues defender will have a tough time on his hands dealing with the in form striker, who currently heads the Premier League golden boot chart, however it’s a match up Jurman can’t wait to tackle.

“It’s going to be awesome [facing Spurs],” he said.

“They’ve got some great players in the team and they’ve had a good year in the EPL. I think it’s going to be a great game and a great test for us to see where we’re at.

“Harry Kane is a great player and he’s scored a lot of goals this season, so it’s going to be a tough test but playing against players like him, with the form that he’s in will be great.

“He’s a big player and he’s got a big future ahead of him so to be playing on the same park as him will be awesome. Hopefully he won’t score any on the day though.

“[I might have to] steal his boots [to stop him],” he continued.

“I haven’t thought about [how to face him] at the moment but I’ll speak to Doug, our analysis guy, and get him to analyse their games.”

While Kane is the key player facing Jurman, the Sky Blues defender spoke glowingly of the opposition as he gets set for his first foray at ANZ Stadium in front of a bumper crowd.

“I’ve never played at ANZ when it’s packed out so that’s something different for me personally,” Jurman said.

“It’s going to be a great day, big crowd, big players so it’s going to be awesome.

“I think Kane is the main one I’m looking forward to facing, but they’ve got some good players in midfield too like Eriksen,” he continued.

“Spurs have got an all round good team, they’ve got a great bunch of players and their coach did well at Southampton last year, so I think it’s just going to be a great game.”
