Sydney FC  Westfield W-League Head Coach Ante Juric lauded his side’s overall performance after a superb win in the Westfield W-League Sydney Derby against the Wanderers on Saturday.

Striker Remy Siemsen scored twice in the space of three first-half minutes to set up the victory, with Lisa De Vanna scoring after the break to wrap up a 3-1 win for the Sky Blues.

Wanderers skipper Ellie Brush scored the Wanderers goal from the penalty spot just before the break.

But it was a deserved win for Sydney FC who have kept their finals hopes on track despite losing their opening three games of the campaign.

“I’m very happy, nine points from [the last] three games,” Juric said.

“But we have to keep going and we have a tough game next week against Canberra.

“We only conceded a few chances and corners. It was a great performance from our back four and our midfield.

“And Remy’s starting to put her chances away which is important. We’re dominating teams and improving. It’s a good thing having something to build on.”

After missing the early part of the season away with the Young Matildas, Siemsem’s return has been a huge boost for Sydney FC and her second goal stole the show at ANZ Stadium.

She struck an unstoppable strike into the corner of the net which gave the Wanderers keeper no chance.

“I was very happy with my with my second, especially being on my left foot which I’ve been working on,” Siemsen said.

“It’s definitely a highlight of the season.”
