Ivanovic’s Happy Hunting Ground

Everyone has happy memories at a particular stadium and for Sky Blue star Luke Ivanovic it’s no different, as the youngster looks forward to returning to Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Sunday.

The scene of his maiden Sydney FC start, and first goal for the club, Ivanovic is eager to get back out on the pitch at Kogarah with a massive #BigBlue double header in store.

“I think it’s going to be exciting to be back at Jubilee Stadium, especially because it’s the Big Blue,” he said.

“We’re all looking forward to it and hoping for a big crowd to turnout.

“I had my first starting appearance and my first goal at the stadium so it’s my favourite venue to play at. I can’t wait to be back there on Sunday.

“Nothing beats the goal I scored [for me], and we’ve won plenty of games there so there’s a lot of happy memories there.

“The have a double header is definitely one for the football fanatics too,” he continued.

“It’s a great chance for fans to come and enjoy a day out at Jubilee and watch some top-class football.”

The 19-year old has visions of replicating Sydney FC’s 6-1 demolition of Melbourne in last season’s Grand Final, as he praised the quality of the Sky Blues’ faithful saying their support instills buoys the squad each match.

“With the Cove behind us it definitely helps,” Ivanovic said.

 “The crowd are like a 12th man to us so it definitely helps when they’re cheering the boys on. I’m confident going into the game.

“We want to replicate what happened in the Semi-Final when we won 6-1,” he continued.

“The atmosphere was fantastic, the crowd was unreal and the players were all on form that day. We’re hoping for more of the same on Sunday.”

Sydney FC return to Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in a #BigBlue double-header on Sunday 17 November (W-League kick off 4pm AEDT, A-League kick off 6:30pm AEDT).
