Crazy Sydney FC and Alessandro Del Piero fan Lucia Bordonaro has spent a month Down Under following her team after travelling all the way from Palermo.

The superfan, who is also a Sydney FC Member, decided to save up and spend her holidays watching her favourite A-League team after the Sky Blues signed Alessandro Del Piero this season.

The young journalist has seen every training session during her stay and has even travelled to away games to watch the team live.

“I-ve seen them twice at Allianz Stadium and saw Del Piero score so I was so happy. I also went to Melbourne and had the chance to visit another city,” she said.

“I can attend the training in the morning and do the tourist stuff in the afternoon and the evening but if I could attend training all day then maybe I would.”

The 30 year old has been a Juventus and Alessandro Del Piero fan since she was young and her love for the World Cup winner has even caused some disruption in her own life.

“I was seeing a guy but he wasn-t very happy to know I was coming here for man, but I-m not here because he [ADP] is good looking,” she admitted.

“I-ve been following football since I was a kid and I-m here because he-s my captain and he does magic things with his feet.

The Sicilian has had the chance to meet her idol many times since arriving on these shores and admits she was thrilled.

“Our first meeting was funny because there were some newspaper articles about my trip, so he knew about a crazy Sicilian girl coming to see him.

“He was like: ‘Wow you-re here, how was your trip, did you put the sun screen on?-.

“It-s crazy because you can-t really get close to players in Italy especially not big ones like Del Piero, so I came here almost every day and I just sit on the grass and watch him do magic stuff.

“He-s always very friendly and nice with the fans because he knows we are coming here for the team and for him.

“Just to get a picture and autograph means a lot to us,” she concluded.
