Ibini Wants More Of The Same On Thursday

Sydney FC striker Bernie Ibini has called for more of the same from his Sky Blues team mates as they head into Thursday night’s top of the table clash with Perth Glory.

Ibini scored a stunning equaliser in the Sydney Derby yesterday and believes Sydney FC can continue their unbeaten run against the Western Australians.

“It’s definitely very good to be unbeaten,” said Ibini. “It was a tough game last night and for us to still get a point out of the game, leading to a game on Thursday against Perth Glory, it’s very important to get that point.

“It’s a big match and we’re playing at home so hopefully we get a lot of supporters supporting us there and hopefully we can get the win at home.

“They’ve started the season very well and we are going to have to be at our full game to compete with them.”

Ibini would also love to get another strike like the one he scored against the Wanderers and revealed he was delighted with the goal.

“I’m pretty happy to score a goal like that it was a great assist from Pedj, he wants to claim the assist, and I’m pretty happy with the goal,” he said.

“Once Pedj put the ball in front there wasn’t many defenders and I thought I’m just going to take them on and see what happens and luckily enough it turned into a goal.”

Ibini and co will continue to train right through to Thursday night in a quick turnaround for a game against the Glory at Allianz Stadium. (kick off 7.30pm).
