Sydney FC Westfield W-League forward Princess Ibini has joined Sky Blues Amy Harrison, Alanna Kennedy and Kyah Simon at the latest Westfield Matildas camp at the AIS as the Olympic qualifiers draw ever closer.
The Westfield Matildas squad will come together for a three day camp at the AIS with the Olympic qualifiers only two months away.
Westfield Matildas Head Coach Alen Stajcic has selected 22 players in total for the training camp in Canberra, which will run from 15-17 December.
The majority of players picked were part of the squad that went to Korea Republic late last month for a match against one of the Westfield Matildas’ five opponents for the Olympic qualifying tournament.
Stajcic has also included two 15 year olds – Ellie Carpenter and Princess Ibini. The duo, who have represented Australia at underage level, have been in good form for their respective Westfield W-League clubs, and are 16 years younger than veteran Lisa De Vanna.
The training camp will be the Westfield Matildas’ last of 2015 with the next training camp scheduled for 4 January.
The Olympic qualifying tournament will take place in Japan from 29 February – 9 March 2016.
