Head To Head: Sofia Huerta v Amy Harrison

Thumbnail

Sydney FC host the Wanderers in a bumper Westfield W-League #SydneyDerby at Cromer Park on Saturday afternoon (kick off 5pm AEDT).

Midfielders Sofia Huerta and Amy Harrison are instrumental to each side, and will no doubt play a hand in deciding where the three points return to post-match.

Huerta is one of the first names on the Sky Blues’ team sheet, with the American a guiding light in midfield, and she’s tasked with even more responsibility now following the departure of Chloe Logarzo.

For Harrison, it’s another clash against the side that launched her Westfield W-League career, with the former Sky Blue now an integral member of Wanderers’ Head Coach Dean Heffernan’s squad.

The Sky Blues are out for revenge, following defeat in the first derby of the season, and their desires for three points will be buoyed by their recent form at the Manly venue which has been a happy hunting ground for goalscorers.

Let’s look at the ‘Tale of the Tape’ between the two midfielders.

While the stats are close between the pair, it’s Sky Blue star Huerta who just nudges ahead, with an assist to her name and more key passes, and the American’s influence on Sydney FC’s build up can’t be underestimated.

Huerta also boasts more shots on target, and a higher passing accuracy, while Harrison’s defensive efforts just outweigh the former Houston star, with two more tackles won and a higher duel success rate.
