Sydney FC new boy Adam Griffiths believes the club has a squad capable of achieving silverware this year but knows sticking together will be a key to that dream.

The players returned to pre-season today and went straight into some gruelling fitness training.

“Probably the best bit was starting and the worst bit was finishing,” said Griffiths after some high tempo sprint and endurance work.

The centre half spent part of the day acquainting himself with his new team mates.

“I know a couple of them already,” he explained. “I know Nicky Carle and a few of the older players but I-m getting to know the younger ones well already, and I-m looking forward to working with them all.”

The squad were address by new CEO Tony Pignata and Head Coach Ian Crook before training.

“They just said we-ve got to stick together to achieve the best result at the end of the season.

“We want to win silverware and I think we can achieve some really good things. I think with a lot of good young players that are coming through and obviously some very good experienced players, we can achieve anything.”
