Each Friday we’re asking the important questions as we profile Sydney FC’s Team of the Decade and former players. Find out who their funniest team mate was, what their favourite away trip was, who they believe was the worst dancer at the club and more!

How did it feel to be named in Sydney FC’s Team of the Decade?

I’ve always said it was a great honour and privilege to play for this football club, but to be named in the Team of the Decade was a very humbling experience for me and my family. To be on the stage with so many wonderful players and people, but when I also look at the number of wonderful people who could have been in the squad, it was a very very proud moment for myself.

Funniest Sydney FC memory?

The funniest thing that I’ve seen at the club was actually since I retired, it was last season when Rhyan Grant forgot to put his playing shirt on when we were away to Wellington and he wanted to play in his training top.

Funniest team mate?

I’ve got a lot of great friends who I’ve shared a lot of wonderful memories with but a roommate of mine for four years at the club and he’s back at the club now is the captain Alex Brosque. He’s a very funny person and we’ve shared some wonderful laughs together over the year.

Best away game memory/story?

I’ve got a lot of stories from away trips but probably the one that stands out the most throughout my whole career was winning the Grand Final in Melbourne away from home at Etihad Stadium in 2010.

Best prank you’ve seen pulled at the club?

There was a prank that took place on an away trip in Brisbane quite a few years ago when a team mate passed wind into a bottle and asked a team mate if their water smelt funny, at which point he proceeded to squeeze the contents in his face.

Smartest team mate?

Probably the most intelligent player during my time at the club has been Clint Bolton and I think when I see what he’s done with his career now at Melbourne City it comes as no surprise, he’s a very smart man.

Worst dancer/singer?

I wouldn’t like to say who the worst was, but certainly the most interesting initiation song I’ve seen was Adam Griffiths song which took place on a pre-season tour of Mackay in a packed RSL restaurant. I don’t know what song it was but it was some sort of metal song.

Worst media appearance?

A charity that’s very close to Sydney FC is beyondblue and the Movember appeal and a few years ago I had to do an appearance where a lady had to clean shave me and I’m very anxious with people around my neck with razors.
