Sydney FC foundation player Terry McFlynn has said he-ll continue playing football in some capacity after bringing the curtain down on his Hyundai A-League career with Sydney FC today.

McFlynn is a fully fledged Sky Blue, having played with the Sydney FC for nine years after successfully trialling with the club in 2005, and after being involved with the game professionally for 17 years the Northern Irishman said football will continue to be a part of his life although he is looking forward to some quality family time.

“Whether it-s a kick around in the park with my mates or whether it is state league, I will continue to play football. It-s a passion of mine, it-s my love,” McFlynn said.

“I-ll go away now, I-ve got a very young family, 17 years I-ve played professional football so I need a break for a while.

“The immediate future is to go away with my kids and with my wife and relax for a while and enjoy family and when an opportunity arises I-ll hit the ground running so to speak.”

McFlynn has represented the Sky Blues 214 times scoring seven goals in the process. He has won two Championships, one Premiership and has competed in the Club World Cup and the Asian Champions League.
