Faty Pleased With Sydney FC Introduction

It was positive first impression for Jacques Faty as he met his new teammates and toured the Sydney FC training ground today.

After stepping off the plane late Monday night, Faty spoke of how the climate in Sydney first hit him and how pleased he was to be at Sydney FC with the Hyundai A-League restart fast approaching.

“I’m happy to be here,” Faty said.

“The climate is very nice and hot here, my teammates have been good to me and I met the coach and spoke with him so everything is very nice.

“Australia is very different from Europe, they’re not the same. You can see the people are more positive and more happy and that’s good.

“I will now continue to visit everything and I will give my maximum [to perform here].”

There was a familiar face for Faty at the Sky Blues training ground, having known Milos Dimitrijevic from their time playing in the France National team youth squads and being aware of Nikola Petkovic during his European career.

Joining along with his cousin, Mickael Tavares, Faty said that having familiar faces in the squad will help set the tone for what he hopes will be a progressive season.

“Milos is a good guy and he made a good career in France and Nikola Petkovic is a good player too,” Faty said.

“We talked about the past and we speak about the future and what we will do together,” he continued.

“They trained very hard and good and from what I saw this morning, I think we will be ready for the second part of the season.

“I’m very happy to be here with my cousin also and all the conditions are good here to have a good season.”

Jacques Faty will be in contention to get his first taste of Hyundai A-League football when the Sky Blues take on the Central Coast Mariners at Gosford Stadium on Saturday 24 January (kick off 7:30pm). Follow @SydneyFC on Twitter for live match updates or catch the game on Fox Sports 4.
