Brett Emerton looks set to be fit to face Adelaide at the Sydney Football Stadium on Thursday night, as the Reds arrive under new coach, the former Sydney FC boss John Kosmina.

The controversial Kosmina returns to Sydney as a coach for the first time since he left the club in 2009, and is certain to be the focus of attention.
Emerton is keen to be part of the welcoming committee.

“It-s good to have him back. He-s larger than life and I-m sure he-ll know the right things to say to motivate those boys to give us a good game,” said the Socceroo.

“It-s going to be tough, as they all are, but we-re on a good run of form and I think the boys are feeling confident.

“If we can win this one, we-ll be pushing right up there at the top of the ladder.”
The midfielder was substituted as a precaution at half time in the 2-1 win at Newcastle on Saturday, after feeling tightness in his hamstring.

But he says the recovery has been successful.

“It-s been good, everything-s positive and I-ll be training here today so barring any sebtack I think I-ll be fine for Thursday.

“It-s an important match for the team and I want to be part of it and I’m looking forward to it.”
