Sydney FC hero Dwight Yorke has urged Sky Blues fans to back the club again in large numbers this season and sign up for a 2013/14 Sydney FC Membership.

The former Manchester United and Sydney FC striker was back in the Harbour City today to help put on a coaching clinic for the Special Olympics Australian football team.

“Australia is like a second home to me, I enjoy being here and enjoy the support throughout,” said Dwight.

“I just want to wish the Members and fans all the best in terms of the team being successful.

“I hope they continue to support their club because that-s their club and it-s about supporting them through thick and thin.

“I-m sure the boys will certainly try and bounce back this year.”

Yorke was joined Sydney FC players Terry McFlynn and Pascal Bosschaart who also took part in the session, alongside United legends Bryan Robson, Denis Irwin and Andrew Cole.

“It-s a wonderful cause to come here and support the Special Olympics Australia, especially when you see the joy on some of these kids faces, and the excitement that it brings to them.

“It-s important that the public know what football can do here.”

The former Sydney FC number 19 was also quick to praise the Hyundai A-League and to acknowledge the affect it is having on the Australian community.

“The A-League seems to have got back the spark that it had at the beginning which is important and the fans need to come out and support it,” he said.

“Football is a global sport and it-s good for the public.

“Knowing how sports enthusiastic you guys are here, it-s important that you continue to support the A-League.”
