The Sydney FC double header involving the Westfield W-League and Foxtel National Youth League sides has been moved to the Sydney United Sports Centre, Edensor Park on Sunday with the Sky Blue ladies kicking off proceedings at 3pm.

The girls play host to the Brisbane Roar before the young Sky Blues, who are ten points clear at the top of the table, take on the bottom placed Central Coast Mariners (kick off 5:45pm).

Before the double header, the W-League team play on Wednesday night at WIN Jubilee Stadium in Kogarah against the Western Sydney Wanderers in the first women-s Sydney Derby of the season (kick off 7:30pm).

This will be a crucial clash for the Sky Blues ladies as it could propel them ahead of Brisbane Roar into second place, with a game in hand, before the Queenslanders arrive for Sunday-s showdown.

For defender Alesha Clifford Wednesday night will be her first clash against the club she represented last season.

“It-ll be exciting,” Clifford said.

“It will be an eventful game and I-m excited to see how it pans out. It-s going to be a tough match and I think both teams will bring their ‘A- game. It will be fought out until the end.

“We-ve got a strong base in the team, we had a few injuries, but I think we-ve got the depth in our team. We-ve been unbelievable and I think we-ll go well,” she continued.

“Out of the two matches [coming up] neither of them are going to be easy, but we-ve been putting it in week in, week out and hopefully we can keep that up.”

The original double header on Sunday was due to be played at WIN Stadium in Wollongong, but had to be moved after the stadium deemed the playing surface to be unsuitable to host a match, as a result of a new grass base forming up insufficiently.
