Sydney FC Head Coach Frank Farina says the Sydney Derby will only go from strength to strength as he prepares for Saturday night-s huge clash with the Western Sydney Wanderers at Allianz Stadium.

A crowd of nearly 20,000 saw Sydney FC secure a 1-0 win at Parramatta Stadium in the first game between the clubs in Round 3. Saturday-s attendance is expected to be even bigger.

“I think it-ll continue to grow,” said Farina. “The first game was a fantastic crowd and atmosphere. I think anyone there will want to come to the second one and to future ones as well.

“It-s a healthy competition to have in a city and it-ll just continue to grow. Hopefully we can get the same result as last time.”

The Sky Blues can draw level on points with the fourth placed Wanderers, if they win. But despite four points from the last two games, Farina isn-t getting carried away.

“My belief hasn-t changed,” he said. “We are not even talking about the [top] six, we-ve got to talk about winning games of football or picking up points.

“We-ve done that in the past two weeks and as long as we continue to do that we-ll rise up the table.

“It is very tight and I expect it will be tight all the way through to the end of the season.”

Tickets for Saturday night’s epic derby clash with Western Sydney Wanderers are still available from Ticketek starting from only $25 for adults. Kick off is 7:45pm with the W-League top of the table clash between Sydney FC and Perth Glory starting at 5pm.
