Sydney FC has welcomed another school to their highly esteemed list of Academy Football Schools with Crestwood High School signing on with the Sky Blues commencing in Term 1 2019.
As a Sydney FC Academy Football School, Crestwood High will have their football program tailored to be fully aligned and coordinated with the vision, philosophy and delivery of the Sydney FC Academy.
Their program will be delivered by Sydney FC approved coaches in a full time year round training environment.
Crestwood’s program will reflect the Sky Blues’ Academy’s philosophies on playing, coaching, learning and talent identification, and is designed to provide additional training opportunities to support young players motivated to reach their potential, while at the same time pursuing a first class education.
Sydney FC Academy Director Kelly Cross welcomed Crestwood High School to the program.
“It’s a pleasure to have Crestwood High School join our Football Schools program,” he said.
“I’m excited to see the network extending into the Hills area. There’s great potential in that area and plenty of good footballers. Crestwood’s senior management staff are very professional, and Principal Therese Hourigan is 100% behind the program.
“It’s great to see our reach spanning across all of Sydney and the Wollongong area with five schools now on board, and I’m looking forward to seeing the talent we can unearth.”
Principal of Crestwood High School, Therese Hourigan, said the school was looking forward to working with the Sky Blues.
“Crestwood High School encourages the pursuit of excellence and our partnership with Sydney FC certainly fits this philosophy,” she said.
“We are very excited to be a part of the Sky Blues’ Academy and look forward to the experiences and opportunities it will provide for our talented players.”
Crestwood are the latest school to join the Sky Blues’ program launched in 2016, teaming up with current schools Endeavour Sports High School, Narrabeen Sports High School, Illawarra Sports High School and Bossley Park High School.
