Sydney FC will man the Sydney Football Stadium gates with coin collectors this Wednesday night to help raise funds for Japan and the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami.

Staff with collection buckets will be out in force both before and after the Sky Blues clash with Japan-s Kashima Antlers at the SFS (8pm kick-off).

Sydney FC will donate all proceeds to Global Giving. Fans can also donate now by visiting the Global Giving website.

“It is an absolute tragedy what occurred in Japan. The people there suffered incredibly, including the Antlers players, coaches and club staff. By collecting money at the Sydney Football Stadium on Wednesday hopefully we help these resolute people in some small way,” Sydney FC Head of Football Stefan Kamasz said.

Sydney FC will travel to Tokyo in May to play the Antlers.
