A player who burst onto the scene this year, Chris Naumoff will be looking to build on his impressive debut season and we look back at just how he fared during his first foray into Hyundai A-League football during 2013/14.
After scoring the winner in the Sky Blues first Foxtel National Youth League match of the season, against the Western Sydney Wanderers, Naumoff soon found himself thrust into Sydney FC-s Hyundai A-League squad.
The youngster made his debut off the bench in round one and his starting debut against the Melbourne Heart at AAMI Park in round six as he played 10 games, for a total of 352 minutes, slotting seamlessly into the first team as he was delpoyed on either wing of the Sky Blues front three.
Naumoff had a total of four shots on goal from his wide positions and made one assist as he set up Ranko Despotovic-s slalom run against the Newcastle Jets that finished with the ball in the back of the net.
With pace to burn and a tireless work ethic, Naumoff had 149 touches on the ball and finished the season with a passing accuracy of 79.8%.
The Sutherland Shire products- defensive qualities were not to be undermined either, as he cleared the danger of three occasions and finished with a 100% tackle completion rate, managing to avoid being booked for the entire season.
With pre-season underway, the 18 year old will be looking to impress new Head Coach Graham Arnold ahead of the Sky Blues season opener against Melbourne City on October 11 at Allianz Stadium.
