Nicky Carle has hailed the battling qualities of the Sydney FC squad after coming from behind in two successive away games to snatch four points.

The team followed up a 2-1 win in Adelaide with a deserved 1-1 draw at Melbourne Heart last Saturday night.

“It showed a lot of character from the boys to come back and not lose that (Melbourne Heart) game. Two weeks in a row we-ve gone down and come back and if you look at last season I don-t think we did that once.

“It-s been a tough away start for us, we-ve had 3 out of 4 games away so picking up 5 points hasn-t been bad at all.

“If we can consolidate and make sure we get the 3 points at home this week it would have been a good start.”

Carle-s influence on both games has been vital with the attacker scoring the winner in Adelaide and popping up with the crucial injury time equaliser against the Heart.

“It-s always good to get goals but I-m always looking to do better and improve. There-s always room for improvement and hopefully there-s a lot more I can give to the team.”

The weather is forecast to be good for the Sunday afternoon kick off at the Sydney Football Stadium and Nicky is hoping for a good turnout for the family friendly tie.

“It was a great crowd for that Brisbane game and hopefully we can get the support back and give them the right result this time.”

The players will also be sporting their early growth as they take part in Movember 2011 and they’re hoping to see the fans show off their own mos.

“It-s for a great cause helping men get aware of depression and prostate cancer so I think everyone is happy to grow their mo for a good cause.

“I-m sure we-ll have some great mos by the end of the month. I know myself it-s not going to be too much but I-ll do my best!”
