Captain’s Column: We’re Ready To Roar

So that’s that for Netstrata Jubilee Stadium for this Hyundai A-League season.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed our Hyundai A-League games there, the turnout from our Members and fans has been amazing, turning the stadium a sea of Sky Blue, and no doubt the AFC Champions League games there next month will be just as great.

All eyes turn to Leichhardt Oval now, it’s an historic venue and one we’ve enjoyed pre-season and FFA Cup games at in the past – with much success.

While that’s all on the horizon, first it’s Brisbane away this Friday night at Suncorp Stadium.

No matter what sport, New South Wales v Queensland is always a massive rivalry. I’ve been on both sides of the Sydney FC v Brisbane Roar clash and it’s always a game that excites and provides talking points.

Training has been great again this week, everyone is stepping up on the pitch now that we’re in the business end of the season.

There’s been plenty of laughs too, you may have seen footage of Alfie’s clothes hanging from a light in the dressing room – sorry Alfie, but with a shirt like that, we had to!

The new boys have slotted in well within the team environment and, with what they’ve been producing on the training ground, it’s going to be a great spectacle on Friday night if both Mitch and Reza are involved.

We’ve got the AFC Champions League coming up next month as well, boy time flies! Our Memberships for that are on sale now so don’t forget to secure your seat for those games.

It sure is exciting times, there’s plenty of football on offer and every game is crucial.

Speaking of crucial games, I’d like to wish our Westfield W-League all the best for their Semi-Final on Sunday against Brisbane Roar. You’ve made every Finals Series to date and I have no doubt you’ll do us proud again in Queensland.

Let’s make it another Sky Blue week!
