Tuesday night was a frustrating night for everyone, we were only minutes away from wrapping up the Plate, but now we’ll have to wait another week.

All the coaches, staff and players were confident we’d have it sealed on Tuesday, but sometimes football doesn’t go your way, and we all need to regroup and get ourselves set for Melbourne City next Saturday at ANZ Stadium.

We’ve got 10 days to rest and recharge for that match, and I think that’ll have us in good stead for the game with everyone fit and firing.

Some of our combination play on Tuesday night was fantastic, especially the build up to Anthony Caceres’ goal and I’m expecting more of the same against City.

It’s going to be interesting for them, you don’t know what to expect from a team coming out of two week’s quarantine. We’ll be prepared for everything and doing our all to seal that title.

The boys have a couple of days off now before returning to training, and for me that means family time. I’m looking to spending as much time as I can with my wife and children, enjoying the winter sun at home.

For all our Members, it’s been fantastic seeing you at our games again, we’ve dearly missed you and it’s brilliant to have football back.

Stay safe and we’ll see you on Saturday 1st of August!
