Captain’s Column: Crucial Gosford Clash

header

Hi everyone, hope you’re all well. Coming into the closing end of the season we have some big games that will really be crucial to how we finish our campaign.

Looking back at Sunday’s game, it was a disappointing result and I really feel we deserved the three points after leading for the majority of the game through Bobô’s double.

A resilient Adelaide however was able to level the playing field late and we walked away with a point each. While a disappointing result, there were several positives to take out of the game and we can move on with our heads held high.

It was a great night regardless, playing at Leichhardt Oval, and it was nice to see some new faces as well as our faithful Sydney FC Members and fans.

We’ve got a massive fixture coming up this Saturday as we travel up the coast to visit the high-flying Central Coast Mariners.

This is always a fixture that brings back some great memories for me personally. I started my A-league career at the Mariners and enjoyed plenty of success there.

They’ve had an amazing season this year and look a very strong side, and a win away could potentially see us up to 2nd place with the back-to-back-to-back still on the cards.

The boys have been hard at work on the training field and in recovery ensuring we’re all in fine match fitness to bring the three points home with us.

We need to ensure we finish the season strong and achieve the goals we set out to achieve at the start of the season.
