Sydney FC would like to congratulate striker Alex Brosque and wife Nadia following the birth of their first child yesterday.

Weighing 3.43kg, Christina Marie Brosque was born at 2:16pm at Fairfield Hospital on Tuesday 2 March and both Nadia and Christina are doing well.

Brosque said it was the most amazing experience of his life.

“I feel so good. Waking up this morning was just a different feeling, one I have never ever felt in my life before,” Brosque said.

“It was enjoyable being woken up by the sound of a new inclusion to the family. It was unreal, a good experience being involved in the birth process and watching everything happen and then to be able to hold her was one of those things you just can-t explain.

“I was a bit nervous when I left training yesterday because I knew that within a couple of hours it was going to start happening.

“To be honest when I got there I had a bit of a moment where I realised, right as soon as this is all over there is a big responsibility. I am going to have look after someone else. It is just great at the moment.”

Brosque said that his partner Nadia had prepared their home well for the impending arrival.

“It was funny because every time I went on an away trip and came back something else was done to her room, something was painted. Everyone helped to get that all set-up so it was great,” Brosque said.

Just five days out from the second leg of the Major Semi Final against Melbourne Victory at the Sydney Football Stadium, Brosque said he is happy with where the team is at.

“Everybody is training well and looking fit. It is good to have Bridgey (Mark Bridge) back and Seb Ryall training,” Brosque said.

“Psychologically, to look over and see those guys at full fitness puts us in the right frame of mind for the game.”
