Brosque And Grant Launch Third Strip

Sydney FC’s Alex Brosque and Rhyan Grant officially launched our third charity strip at Sydney Children’s Hospital today, ahead of Saturday’s clash against the Central Coast Mariners at Allianz Stadium (kick off 5pm).

The pair spent an hour touring the wards, spreading cheer to the kids and handing out replicas of the third strip with both saying how much the Sky Blues hospital visits meant to them.

“I’ve been lucky enough to come here for a few years,” Grant said.

“It’s great to be able to bring some light to the kid’s days, and they bring light to our days too. The kids just don’t stop smiling so it’s definitely a good thing to do and I’m happy I can do it.

“When you come down and see what the kids go through it definitely puts the life of a footballer into perspective.”

“It’s always a good day when you can come and put a smile on some kids’ faces,” Brosque continued.

“We were here at Christmas handing out presents as well so anytime you can come here as players, share some stories and have a few laughs with the kids, it makes everyone’s days a bit better.”

The third charity strip will be worn for the Central Coast Mariners match this Saturday, and while the Sky Blues easily triumphed 5-1 in their previous encounter Grant and Brosque know it will be a tough task to grace the one off jersey with a home win.

“We’ve been playing well the last three weeks,” Grant said.

“Knowing that we’ve beaten them by a good margin last time will give us confidence but we’re not going to take it easy.”

“They’ll be fired up as well,” Brosque added.

“We can’t take them lightly on that last result alone and we know at home we need to pick up more points.

“Any game at home at the moment is a very important game for us and we just have to take this game as if it was Melbourne Victory as well.”

On the third charity strip, designer, competition winner and Sydney FC Member Jarrod Radcliffe said he’s looking forward to seeing the club take the field in his creation.

“I just thought I’d change the kit up a bit, throw in a couple of shades of blue and put the sash across,” he said of the new kit.

“Then orange goes back to the start of the club and foundation. The orange also links to my home club Lugarno so I thought I’d get that in there for them.

“It will be great to see the boys who go me into football and the A-League wear the kit and it will be a honour to see them in something I designed.”
