Bojic Wants Allianz Fortress

Sky Blues defender Pedj Bojic says he wants to turn Allianz Stadium into a fortress as Sydney FC bid to increase their winning streak against Wellington Phoenix in the first of three home games in four weeks.

The Phoenix are sitting ninth on the table and lost the corresponding fixture last season 7-1. Bojic is hoping for a similar turn of events on Saturday evening.

“100% we want to make Allianz a fortress,” Bojic said.

“These are your home games and they are coming into your backyard so you don-t want them to leave with anything.

“Allianz is a great ground and the fans are fantastic so we want them to be behind us and at the same time we have to put in a performance to get the result,” he continued.

“Hopefully we can repeat that big score line but it-s a new season, they-ve got a new coach and some new players so it-s going to be a tough game.”

Bojic believes the squad are hitting form and that the Sky Blues are starting to turn heads.

“Three weeks in a row now we-ve played good football,” he said.

“Although we didn-t win the Perth game, it set us up to move into Melbourne Victory and getting that first win away since December and a clean sheet which was great.

“We are starting to get that confidence going forward with our new style of play. We-re happy how we are coming along and we need to keep building it week by week,” he continued.

“The boys are all confident and we know what we can do. We set out from day one what our goals are, we want to keep that winning mentality and we-re hoping this Saturday it continues.”
