Sydney FC’s Brazilian ace Bobô has now become the fastest player to 20 goals in one Hyundai A-League season.

The Sky Blues striker scored goals 19 and 20 on Saturday night as Sydney FC smashed Melbourne City 4-0 to move 12 points clear at the top of the league.

Bobôhas now become the first Sydney FC player to score 20 goals in an A-League season. He scored those 20 goals in 20 games.

In a delicious twist, the Brazilian powered home goal number 20 just moments after Bruno Fornaroli was subbed on to huge applause at AAMI Park.

The previous fastest to 20 goals in one season was, that’s right, Bruno Fornaroli.

This will no doubt fuel the debate about who is the better striker. Is it Brazilian Bobô? Or is it Uruguayan Bruno?

As if to underline the importance of Fornaroli to City,  they only had three shots on target against Sydney FC at 18.75 per cent shots  (3/16 shots on target).

This is well below City’s season average of 47.8 per cent.
