Sydney FC star Bobô says he can’t wait to see the Sky Blues’ faithful again as he prepares for his first match back this Saturday night at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.

The Brazilian striker, the A-League’s most prolific goalscorer, is set to feature against the Brisbane Roar and has his sights set on finding the back of the net in a returning gift to the fans who’ve shown him great support since his arrival back into the county.

“I can’t wait to meet the fans again, it sure will be great,” Bobô said.

“I hope to score for them. It has been a long wait but I feel fit and ready, and I can’t wait to get going again in front of these fantastic supporters.

“Since leaving Australia in 2018, I have never forgotten the fans here and how they’ve always backed our club, and it will be a pleasure to play in front of them once more.”

Bobô, who scored 27 goals in 27 games in season 2017/18, said there’s a good feeling about the club and revealed his joy at pulling on the Sky Blue jersey again.

“It is a good feeling to be back, back to training and playing with the Sydney FC jersey,” he said.

“I’m getting better every day, I don’t know if I can handle playing the whole game, but for sure more than 45 min. We’ve got a few more days to prepare for the Saturday game.

“We have a good team, I’m training hard and I believe we can do a good job [this season],” he continued.

“We’ve got some good young strikers here and there’s a big competition for places so I think I will enjoy playing in the Sky Blue shirt again.”
