Hyundai A-League 2010 Champions Sydney FC will be without defender Sung-Hwan Byun for Monday night-s clash with the table topping Adelaide United at the Sydney Football Stadium (5pm kick-off) after he picked up a hamstring strain in Wednesday night-s 1-1 draw with North Queensland.

Amazingly it will be the first match the South Korean will miss since his arrival in the Harbour City at the start of the 2009/10 A-League season. The injury is expected to keep him out for just the one match.

A cult hero at the club, Byun hadn-t missed a minute of A-League football since his debut in 09/10 until coming off in the 59th minute against the Fury.

The 30-year-old played in all 31 games of Sydney FC-s Championship winning season last year, totalling 2841 minutes of nonstop football. He capped of the remarkable year by scoring the decisive penalty in the Grand Final shootout at Etihad Stadium.

Until his injury on Wednesday, Byun had played in all eight matches this season (689 minutes) as well.
