The #BigBlue Is The Biggest – Le Fondre

There’s nothing bigger than the #BigBlue according to Sky Blue star Adam Le Fondre, as he gears up for Sunday week’s clash at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.

Looking ahead to the encounter, Le Fondre said he’s eager to return to Kogarah, while hinting that the Sky Blues’ massive 6-1 thrashing in last season’s Semi-Final would be playing on the minds of the away side.

“It’s a good rivalry [the #BigBlue],” Le Fondre said.

“It’s really strong and almost I feel it’s a bit bigger than the Wanderers game because there’s a lot of real dislike between both clubs because they’ve both been successful.

“I prefer playing at Jubilee I’m really looking forward to it,” he continued.

“The 6-1 win was a great team performance that day and I’m really looking forward to replicating that.

“That result can work both ways playing on their [Melbourne’s] mind, it might spur them on as obviously they’ve got to put on a better performance than they did last time but ultimately in every game we play it’s down to what we do.”

On a personal note, Le Fondre is eyeing off eclipsing his goal haul from season 2018/19, while also setting down goals for progression in the AFC Champions League and taking home more Hyundai A-League silverware.

“I want better than last season, I think anything less would be a disappointment for myself,” he said.

“I want the Premiership and the Grand Final, and obviously to make it out of the group stages in the Champions League. That’s a realistic target with the squad we’ve got.

“We’ve had spells in every game where we’ve played very well,” he continued.

“Second half against the Jets we were really dominant, the Wanderers game we dominated most of the game, Adelaide we were dominant for spells in that game as well and same against Wellington.

“We have to keep building on what we’re doing, keep creating chances and putting them away and keep sticking to the structures we’ve got.”
